This template helps you segment products in your feed based on true ROAS, using performance data pulled directly from Google Ads.

Why ROAS?

Unlike Google Merchant Center, which doesn’t provide cost data, Google Ads gives you full visibility into cost, clicks, conversions, and conversion value.
That means you can calculate real ROAS (Conversion Value Ă· Cost) and use it to guide your campaign structure.

The Problem

Many advertisers treat all products the same, ignoring differences in profitability.
This leads to wasted budget on products with poor ROAS, and missed scaling opportunities on products with great ROAS.

The Solution

This workflow automatically:

  1. Fetches product-level performance from Google Ads.
  2. Calculates ROAS per product.
  3. Classifies each product into one of four labels:
    • top_performer → ROAS significantly above target
    • average_performer → ROAS within target ± tolerance
    • low_performer → ROAS below target
    • insufficient_data → not enough clicks to judge
  4. Pushes the results back into Merchant Center as a Supplemental Feed, refreshed daily.

When to Use This vs. GMC Performance Labelizer

  • Use this Google Ads Product ROAS Labelizer when you want to optimize based on ad spend efficiency (ROAS).
  • Use the GMC Product Performance Labelizer when you want to optimize based on Value per Click (VPC), which includes both paid and free (organic) clicks.

Both templates can work side-by-side, giving you a full picture of product performance from different angles.

Why It’s Useful

  • Optimize budgets: Increase spend where ROAS is high, cut spend where it’s weak.
  • Product-level control: Build campaigns that prioritize your most profitable products.
  • Automation-first: Labels update daily, so your feed is always aligned with performance.

With this template, you’re turning product-level ROAS data into an actionable feed segmentation strategy — no manual analysis required.
