Seven of the 11 major ad platforms in this review have launched, piloted, or announced an official Ads MCP server. Only four can be used today without joining an alpha or waitlist, and just three offer meaningful campaign writes.
Last verified: July 15, 2026
The short version is that official Ads MCP support is arriving quickly, but “official” does not yet mean mature, public, or read/write. Google Ads is deliberately read-only, Meta and Amazon are in beta, Microsoft Advertising is an open pilot, Pinterest is working through alpha partners, and Snapchat has announced its direction without publishing a self-serve setup.
This report separates products you can connect now from pilots and announcements. It also distinguishes an official platform server from a cross-platform advertising MCP such as Markifact, because the two solve different problems.
Ads MCP status by platform
| Ad platform | Official Ads MCP status | Access | Authentication or setup | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Ads | Available, official open-source server | Read-only | Google Ads developer token plus Google OAuth or ADC | Three core tools; no campaign changes |
| Meta Ads | Open beta | Read/write | Hosted server with Meta Business OAuth | Beta eligibility and account permissions apply |
| TikTok Ads | Available through Agentic Hub | Read/write | TikTok for Business authorization | Availability can vary by account |
| Amazon Ads | Open beta | Read/write | Active Amazon Ads API credentials | Limited to Amazon Ads partners |
| Microsoft Advertising | Open pilot | Read-only | Pilot onboarding; major MCP clients supported | Waitlist and no writes at launch |
| Pinterest Ads | Alpha partner program | Read-oriented | Access through selected alpha partners | Not a broad self-serve release |
| Snapchat Ads | Announced | Read/write intent | Public setup not documented | No public tool catalog or launch access |
| OpenAI Ads | No official MCP found | Not applicable | Ads Manager beta and APIs are separate | No platform-owned Ads MCP located |
| Apple Ads | No official MCP found | Not applicable | Apple Ads API OAuth is separate | No platform-owned Ads MCP located |
| LinkedIn Ads | No official MCP found | Not applicable | LinkedIn Marketing API access is separate | No platform-owned Ads MCP located |
| Reddit Ads | No official MCP found | Not applicable | Reddit Ads API credentials are separate | No platform-owned Ads MCP located |
“No official MCP found” is intentionally precise. It means I could not locate a server published or operated by the platform owner on the verification date. It does not mean third-party Ads MCP servers are unavailable.
What counts as an official Ads MCP?
For this report, an Ads MCP is official only when the ad platform publishes, operates, or formally announces it. A community GitHub project that wraps an official API can still be useful, but it belongs in a different category.
I used five maturity labels:
- Available: a qualifying advertiser can follow public documentation and connect it now.
- Open beta: the server is live, but features, eligibility, or support can still change.
- Open pilot: the platform is onboarding a limited group through a pilot or waitlist.
- Alpha or announced: selected partners can test it, or the company has described the product without publishing broad access.
- No official MCP found: the platform has an API or ad product, but no first-party Ads MCP was located.
This distinction matters because a launch headline can hide the operational details. A read-only local server that needs developer credentials is very different from a hosted OAuth server that can create or edit campaigns.
Official Ads MCPs with meaningful write access
Meta Ads
Meta introduced its official Ads AI connectors in open beta on April 29, 2026. The hosted connection uses Meta Business OAuth and supports both reporting and campaign-management workflows, making it one of the most complete official Ads MCP releases in this review.
It is still a beta. Access to an ad account and the actions available through it remain subject to Meta permissions and product eligibility. Meta’s official announcement is the source of truth for the current program, and the Meta Ads to ChatGPT guide shows the practical connection flow.
TikTok Ads
TikTok announced Ads MCP and agent skills at TikTok World, then launched its Agentic Hub on June 30. The official server covers campaign management, performance reporting, audience configuration, and creative operations.
This is a genuine read/write Ads MCP, not just a reporting bridge. The main caveat is access: the exact tools and availability can depend on the advertiser account and the TikTok for Business rollout.
Amazon Ads
Amazon’s official Ads MCP server entered open beta on February 2, 2026. It can create, update, and delete campaigns, run reports, manage account settings, and access billing and financial data.
Amazon is also the clearest example of an official server packaging complete advertising workflows rather than only exposing raw API calls. Its Sponsored Products workflow can assemble a campaign that is ready for human review and approval. The limitation is that the beta is available to Amazon Ads partners with active API credentials, not every advertiser with a console login.
The official Google Ads MCP is read-only
Google’s official Google Ads MCP server is available as an open-source Python project. It uses a Google Ads developer token and Google credentials, and it currently exposes three core tools for listing accessible customers, running searches, and retrieving resource metadata.
The design is deliberately read-only. It can inspect accounts and query performance through the Google Ads API, but it cannot create a campaign, pause an ad, change a bid, or update a budget.
That makes Google Ads useful for audits and reporting while keeping execution outside the server. It also illustrates why “has an official Ads MCP” is not enough information for a media buyer. Access level is the more important column.
Open pilots, alpha programs, and announcements
Microsoft Advertising
Microsoft announced its Advertising MCP server as an open pilot on June 17, 2026. At launch it provides read-only access to campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, and performance metrics, with support planned for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients.
The public page still directs advertisers toward pilot or waitlist access. Microsoft deserves credit for documenting the entity and metric coverage clearly, but it should not yet be described as broadly self-serve or read/write.
Pinterest Ads
Pinterest announced its official MCP work on June 17 with alpha partners including agencies and ad-tech platforms. The initial use cases emphasize campaign analytics, keyword insights, planning, and analysis.
Pinterest has also described campaign execution as part of the product’s evolution. For the current table, I classify it as an alpha partner program with read-oriented access because broad execution tooling and self-serve onboarding have not been published.
Snapchat Ads
Snap said on June 18 that it was opening its ads platform to third-party AI agents through MCP. Its announcement covers planning, creation, optimization, and campaign scaling, which points toward meaningful write capabilities.
What is missing is equally important: Snap has not published a public endpoint, self-serve setup, detailed tool catalog, or general-availability date. The correct status today is announced, not available.
Ad platforms with no official MCP found
OpenAI Ads
OpenAI now operates an Ads Manager beta and documents ad reporting, conversion measurement, targeting context, and buying models. I could not find an official OpenAI Ads MCP server in the Ads Manager or ads help documentation.
That distinction is easy to miss because ChatGPT itself is an MCP client and OpenAI is now an advertising platform. Having an Ads API or a self-serve manager does not automatically mean there is an official Ads MCP.
Apple Ads
Apple publishes an Apple Ads API for campaign management and reporting. No platform-owned Apple Ads MCP server was located.
Advertisers can still connect Apple Ads through a third-party server that uses the official API. It should simply be labeled third-party rather than official.
LinkedIn Ads
LinkedIn’s Marketing APIs cover campaign management, creatives, targeting, and reporting. No first-party LinkedIn Ads MCP server was found in the current product or developer documentation.
LinkedIn is therefore a strong example of an API-rich platform where third-party Ads MCP coverage can be deeper than the official MCP category, because the official category does not yet exist.
Reddit Ads
Reddit maintains an official Ads API for approved developers. I found no official Reddit Ads MCP server.
As with LinkedIn and Apple, the absence of a first-party server does not block MCP access. It changes who operates the bridge and who is responsible for authentication, tool design, safeguards, and support.
Advertiser-adjacent MCPs worth tracking
Paid media does not stop at the campaign object. Measurement, product feeds, lifecycle messaging, and organic search context affect how an advertiser reads performance, so four adjacent products belong in the wider picture.
| Adjacent platform | Official MCP status | Access | Why ad teams care |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Official experimental server | Read-only | Conversion, funnel, audience, and site-performance context |
| Google Merchant Center | Official experimental alpha | Read plus limited low-risk writes | Product status, disapprovals, feeds, and Shopping insights |
| Klaviyo | Official hosted server | Read/write with optional read-only mode | Campaign, flow, profile, and owned-revenue context |
| Google Search Console | No official product-specific MCP found | Not applicable | Search demand, landing-page, and query context |
Google Analytics’ official MCP is experimental and read-only. Klaviyo’s hosted MCP server uses OAuth, supports writes, and can be restricted to read-only mode.
Google Merchant Center is the newest material addition. Its experimental alpha MCP supports product and account diagnostics, reports, and limited low-risk writes such as creating or fetching data sources. Google warns that it shares Merchant API quota and is not intended for sensitive, high-reliability systems in its current form.
The official Ads MCP timeline
The pattern is more important than any single launch. Official MCP support moved from cautious read-only data access toward hosted ad-account connections and campaign execution in less than a year.

What this means for media buyers
Official does not mean equivalent
The official label answers who owns the server. It does not answer whether the product is public, hosted, supported, read/write, or suitable for production workflows.
Compare access and safeguards before comparing tool counts. A small, read-only server may be the right choice for account audits. A write-capable server needs clear approval boundaries, account scoping, and a reliable audit trail.
Read-only is the common starting point
Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Advertising all lead with inspection and reporting. That is a rational release path because a bad report can be corrected, while a bad write can spend money or disrupt delivery.
Read-only does not make an Ads MCP unimportant. Reporting, anomaly investigation, account audits, and cross-account comparisons are already high-frequency media-buying tasks.
Authentication is still the real bottleneck
The protocol can standardize how an AI client discovers and calls tools, but it does not remove platform access rules. Developer tokens, API approval, OAuth scopes, business roles, partner status, and pilot eligibility still determine what a user can do.
The easiest connection in a demo is not always the easiest connection across an agency with dozens of clients. Media buyers should test manager-account support, account selection, reauthorization, and offboarding before treating any server as operational infrastructure.
Cross-platform analysis remains the gap
Official servers are understandably designed around one platform. A media buyer deciding where the next dollar should go needs Google, Meta, TikTok, Microsoft, Amazon, and sometimes analytics or commerce data in the same decision.
That is where a cross-platform layer remains useful. The value is not that it replaces official servers. It provides a consistent tool surface and account model across platforms that otherwise mature at different speeds.
Where Markifact fits
Markifact is not the official MCP server for Google, Meta, TikTok, or any other ad platform. It is a third-party cross-platform Ads MCP that connects the 11 advertising platforms reviewed here, plus adjacent systems including Google Analytics, Google Merchant Center, Klaviyo, and Google Search Console.
Coverage depth varies by connector. Markifact’s current registry includes broad read/write operations for Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Microsoft Advertising, LinkedIn Ads, OpenAI Ads, and Google Merchant Center, while several other connectors are currently focused on reporting and account selection.
That difference should be explicit. A cross-platform server is most useful when a team values consistent authentication, reporting, approval-gated writes, and comparisons across channels. A platform’s official server may be the better fit when a team needs only that platform and wants the owner’s current tool set.
Frequently asked questions
What is an Ads MCP?
An Ads MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that lets an AI client retrieve advertising data or call ad-platform tools. Depending on the server, it may support reporting, audits, campaign creation, budget changes, creative operations, or only a small read-only subset.
Which ad platforms have official MCP servers?
Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Amazon Ads have official servers available to qualifying users. Microsoft Advertising has an open pilot, Pinterest has an alpha partner program, and Snapchat has announced official MCP access without publishing broad self-serve availability.
Which official Ads MCP servers can change campaigns?
Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Amazon Ads have the clearest meaningful write paths in the core advertising review. Google Ads is read-only, Microsoft Advertising is read-only at launch, Pinterest is currently classified as read-oriented alpha access, and Snapchat has announced write-oriented use cases without publishing the server for general use.
Does OpenAI Ads have an official MCP server?
No official OpenAI Ads MCP server was found as of July 15, 2026. OpenAI operates an Ads Manager beta and related advertising systems, but those should not be described as an official MCP server.
Is an Ads MCP the same as a marketing MCP?
An Ads MCP is a narrower category focused on paid-media platforms and workflows. Marketing MCP can also include CRM, email, analytics, SEO, content, commerce, social publishing, and other marketing systems.
Can one Ads MCP compare several ad platforms?
Yes, if it is a cross-platform server. Most official Ads MCP servers cover only the platform that publishes them, while a third-party server such as Markifact can expose several ad platforms through one client connection.
Should I use an official or third-party Ads MCP?
Use the official server when its access model, tools, and single-platform scope fit the job. Consider a third-party server when you need broader platform coverage, more operations than the official release provides, or one consistent workflow across several ad accounts. In either case, verify permissions and require human approval for consequential writes.
